Does Ghost of Yōtei Have a Crafting System? All Resources and Where to Get ThemHow to Craft Weapons in Ghost of Yōtei? How to Craft Ammo in Ghost of Yōtei?

Ghost of Yōtei is an action-adventure game that relies heavily on player crafting items to survive or defeat enemies. This game also has a similar system, which doesn’t work like other survival titles. Ghost of Yōtei does put emphasis on you crafting, as that’s how you get stronger weapons and ammo.

Where the game deviates is how you craft weapons and ammo; the game’s crafting system isn’t how you would assume, and here are all the details about it. Continue reading to learn how Ghost of Yōtei’s crafting system works, what resources there are, and how to craft weapons and ammo.

Does Ghost of Yōtei Have a Crafting System?

Ghost of Yōtei doesn’t have a traditional crafting system, so you can’t create anything in the game from scratch. The game instead has you upgrade weapons using NPCs or stations and assemble ammo at campsites using resources you can collect.

Crafting ammo has some resemblance to how traditional crafting works in games, but other than that, Ghost of Yōtei is completely different. Weapon crafting, or how it should be referred to, upgrading requires you to have the gun that you want to improve.

How to Craft Weapons in Ghost of Yōtei?

Weapon crafting doesn’t work like most traditional adventure games, as the game doesn’t let you make a weapon from scratch. Instead, you can upgrade weapons you find or unlock using resources. These upgrades can substantially increase the weapon’s stats, letting you deal more damage. Each weapon type has a different location where it can be upgraded.

  • Bombs: Upgraded with Ina the Bomb Maker (after unlocking her)
  • Bows: Upgraded through Ran the Bowyer
  • Guns: Upgraded with Matchlock Murata
  • Melee weapons: Upgraded at Father’s Forge in Atsus’s home

Weapon Upgrade Tiers

There are four tiers that weapon upgrades have, including Altered, Reinforced, Enhanced, and Perfected. Each upgrade tier increases the weapon’s effectiveness. This means the weapon can deal more damage, improve weapon stagger, or have any other effects after upgrades. However, these upgrades also cost more materials.

How to Upgrade Weapons

Upgrading weapons in Ghost of Yōtei is simple. Once you have the required material, follow these steps:

  • Go to the appropriate NPC or station
  • Open the upgrade menu
  • Ensure you have the required resources and coins
  • Apply the upgrade

How to Craft Ammo in Ghost of Yōtei?

You can craft ammo at any campsite after setting up camp. The crafting ammo option is accessed from the camp menu, where you can see which ammo types are available. You can craft anything from arrows to gun ammo, but you will need to have the required resources. Once you craft the ammo, the resources will be replaced with the ammo you crafted.
