Since its launch in 2020, the PS5 has seen a sizeable variety of exclusives, from launch titles such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales to more recent entries like Stellar Blade. The PS5 offers players many different adventures to embark on, and with plenty of mileage left in the tank, there is still lots to come.
As players look forward to upcoming titles like ASTRO BOT and Death Stranding 2, Sony is gearing up to offer another strong couple of years of PS5 exclusives. Astro’s Playroom (November 12, 2020)
Astro’s Playroom is a unique platformer that came pre-installed on the PS5 as an exclusive. The game makes fantastic use of showing players the different features of the Dualsense controller, such as the Haptic Feedback. It gives players a great example of how platformers should be, even with their short playtime. Any player who has yet to play Astro’s Playroom needs to check out its charm and love for the PlayStation console line.
Demon’s Souls Remake (November 12, 2020)
The remake of From Software’s Demon’s Souls is a graphical and performance achievement that ranks high among PS5 exclusives. Although a Souls title, it is the true definition of a remake. The team at Bluepoint created a title that showed just what the PS5 is capable of, especially as a launch title for the console. Boasting incredible loading speeds, players are instantly transported to various locations in the game, a console generation first.
God of War Ragnarök (November 9, 2022)
The latest addition to the God of War series, Ragnarök, showcases a nonstop adrenaline rush of story mixed with engaging combat. Players traverse the Norse world as the iconic Kratos. Both he and his son Atreus are working to stop the cataclysmic Ragnarök event from occurring. Along with the combat, players can level up the characters and apply various skills to ensure different gameplay styles and experiences. The title features incredible set pieces and fights that will stick with your memory for a long time.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (October 20, 2023)
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is an incredible open-world action title by Insomniac. The game combines the best features of both the first game and the Miles Morales spin-off into an incredible sequel. Players explore and complete a story narrative across various New York City boroughs fighting iconic Spider-Man villains. Boasting two protagonists, countless skills and outfits to unlock, and fantastic free-flowing combat, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a must-experience PS5 exclusive. Additionally, the gripping narrative resonates with players and is a top-tier title.
Great PS5 Exclusives Coming to the Console
ASTRO BOT (September 6, 2024)
ASTRO BOT is getting the well-deserved treatment of a full-fledged game. Players will be adventuring across over 80 different levels, saving various galaxies. The title continues the trend of paying tribute to the different PlayStation consoles. ASTRO BOT is bringing more platforming fun to PS5 players as an exclusive. If the title is anything like its incredibly successful predecessor, it will easily be another well-done exclusive title for PS5.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (TBA)
The sequel to Hideo Kojima’s divisive IP with Kojima Productions, where players deliver packages around a destroyed America. Death Stranding 2 looks to bring more unique, groundbreaking mechanics to the newest game. Players will again take on the role of Sam Porter Bridges, played by Norman Reedus. The game aims to take players to a new locale, but the title looks to bring more of the package-delivering charm of the first game.
Marvel’s Wolverine (TBA)
Insomniac Games is bringing its superhero game magic to the famous X-Man, Wolverine. Players around the world only received a tease during the 2021 PlayStation Showcase. However, if the Spider-Man series is any indication of what to expect, PlayStation players are in for a treat. Insomniac always delivers with their titles, and finally, being able to play again as Wolverine will be fantastic. The PS5 exclusive lineup only gets better with this game being added to it.
Phantom Blade 0 (TBA)
Phantom Blade 0 aims to deliver a fast-paced, graphically stunning action RPG experience for the PS5. Players take on the role of an assassin who has 66 days to complete his mission before he dies. Developer S-GAME looks to be delivering a cinematic experience complete with Chinese combat mixed with steampunk. While only a tiny tidbit of gameplay was shown, the game seems to bring a fresh, quick-reflexed take on sword combat for players to try out.
