Playing games is typically the primary reason why a person would want to buy a PlayStation 5. However, you can’t quite do that if you’re continuously having PS5 game loading issues. Fortunately, like most other things on the PS5, like the “Can’t Use This Content” error, there are a few things you can do to learn how to fix PS5 game loading issues.
- Restart your console.
- Check the application’s compatibility.
- Uninstall and reinstall the affected application.
- Update the most recent system software.
Restarting the Console
To restart your console effectively so that you can learn how to fix PS5 game loading issues, follow these instructions:
- Turn off your PS5 console, either by pressing the On/Off button on the front or by using your controller.
- Unplug the console from the power source.
- Wait about 60 seconds and plug the power back in.
- Turn on the console and give it a second to load back up.
- You’ll need to connect your DualSense controller to the console via cable for this.
- Check to see if you can now open the application.
Checking the Application’s Compatibility
Sometimes, the issue is a matter of whether or not the application you’re trying to use is even compatible with the PS5 console. Just because the game you’re playing is available on both consoles doesn’t mean that the PS4 version is compatible on PS5. - Locate the application or game you want to uninstall and delete it.
Before reinstalling the game, I recommend restarting your console.
Update the System
Last but not least, try updating your console to the latest software update. To do that, read below:
- Go to the Settings at the top right-hand corner of the PS5 home menu.
- Head to the System option.
- Go to the System Software selection.
- Lastly, click on the Update System Software and follow the on-screen instructions if there are any.
Should none of the above work, then the problem is likely attributed to a faulty piece of hardware. You can try a few more, larger-scale fixes including:
- Replace the PS5’s hard drive.
- Check the SSD for errors.
