I think that nowadays, people tend to forget that there are other games on the PS5 that can be modded outside of anything published by Bethesda. There is a whole world of games where you are able to add your own personal touch to the experience.
So, to help you choose from which of the games the PS5 modding community has shown the most love to, we laid five of them out below. It’s important to note that these choices are just my opinion of the best and aren’t placed in a particular order.
5 – Farming Simulator 25 (2024)

Alrighty, we are starting at the bottom of the list with Farming Simulator 25. It’s really only here because the game is still a lot of fun to mod and lets you really enhance the realism, but a lot of the more useful mods can’t be used on the PS5. Sony has security policies revolving around scripting, which limit what’s available for these kinds of games concerning mods.
Besides that, there are various new machinery and maps that can be installed as part of different mods that can still enhance your gameplay experience.
4 – Path of Titans (2020)

Second on our list is the dinosaur RPG, where every dino truly must fend for themselves, Path of Tians. You know how in most MMORPGs, you create your custom character and then gallivant across whatever magical world you need to journey through? Well, Path of Titans lets you choose from various dinosaur species and then customize their skins and markings.
PlayStation 5 users specifically might be excited to know that there is a pretty large modding community that allows you to get new skins, playable dinosaurs, and even different maps that have been created by other members of the community.
3 – Ark Survival Ascended (2023)

I’m sorry that the second game on this list also has to do with dinosaurs, but there really is no denying how large the ARK: Survival Ascended community is. What makes it different from Path of Titans is that you aren’t playing as the dinosaur, but rather, a person just trying to survive in a world filled with these perilous beasts.
The modding community for this game specifically is pretty active, with tons of acgtivity with in the subreddit about which mods are the best for a better game experience. It seems that people are pretty big on mods that involve making more trivial tasks easier.
2 – Baldur’s Gate 3 (2023)

I feel like you’d have to be living under a rock not to know about the massive modding community for Baldur’s Gate 3. It’s the very same on console, with mods having been added as of Patch 7. The game revolves around a Dungeons and Dragons campaign on the Sword Coast of the Forgotten Realms. After making your character, you’ll be off to journey on various strange and exciting quests with your crew of weird companions.
A lot of the mods available on the PS5 apply more toward quality of life improvements, like weightless items and improved UI. However, you can also expect some more useful ones, like being able to increase your party limit or even being involved in polyamorous relationships with companions.
1 – Fallout 4 (2015)

I feel as though Fallout 4 had a massive hand in introducing the concept of modding for consoles. Despite the Fallout franchise originating on PC, we can pretty much expect every installment moving forward to also be released on PlayStation. The latest mainline installment in the franchise takes place in New England and follows the Sole Survivor on a quest to find his son.
The modding community for this game is pretty insane, and lets you add a whole variety of new features to your settlements and weapons that can make your next gameplay session much more comfortable. You’re even able to install the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch that goes over a majority of the bugs that are still left in the game.
