SAND: Raiders of Sophie coming to PS5 is something that console players have been hoping for. It’s one of the many indie games that many of us want to experience but are currently missing out on. For example, many are getting to enjoy the underwater horrors of Subnautica 2, while the PS5 is absent from the enjoyment. Being able to duke it out with others on mechanized giants sounds fantastic. Something that we really haven’t been able to experience on the PS5 before. The game has been a blast for many players since its release on Steam, and with that, can we expect SAND: Raiders of Sophie on PS5?
Is SAND: Raiders of Sophie Coming to PS5?
Yes, the game is going to be making its way to the PS5 and PS5 Pro. The confirmation comes right from the developers, Hologryph and TowerHaus. However, we don’t have any sort of release date on when we can expect to see it load up on our consoles. The main focus right now is that the game is full of content and running well for PC players before porting it over. What is different compared to other indie titles, though, is that the developers aim to make sure the launch gap is not large.
Therefore, we could expect to see SAND: Raiders of Sophie on PS5 within the next six months. Plus, as an extra assurance, players are able to wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store. Therefore giving extra credence that the PvPvE is going to be coming to the current-generation console. However, the game just launched into Early Access on June 22, 2026, so we still have a bit of a way to go before it comes to console.

Could SAND: Raiders of Sophie Release on PS4?
The game is not going to be making its way to PS4 consoles when it launches on console. The developers are going to be making the game for current-generation consoles only. It’s something that could change in the future, but for now, when the game launches, it’s aiming just for PS5. There have been many indie titles that decide to launch on previous-generation consoles to ensure the player base is larger. And with this title, multiplayer is at its core, so having more players helps with keeping the game going.
The release of many indie games on PC always has players like myself wondering if they are coming to PS5. Sometimes the developers choose to have the game be a PC exclusive, while other times it takes a long time to port. Gray Zone Warfare is one of those titles that is still actively being worked on PC but is supposed to come to PS5. But because of the lengthy development process, players are going to have to wait before it comes to PS5. And the same can be said when it comes to SAND: Raiders of Sophie.
