On February 6, 2026, Nioh 3 was released for PlayStation 5 as a straight-up sequel to all the previous games despite Nioh 2 being set as a prequel. Receiving generally positive reviews, the game was considered good among series fans and was added to the long list of “soulslikes” to play before you die. Its campaign is even around 40 hours long, so not only do we have all these games of this genre to play in our lifetime, but now a 30- to 40-hour campaign!
However, despite that long game length, some might be asking for more from Nioh 3. Especially when you’ve been punished again and again by a level 30 demon for whatever reason, you’d want to come back and demolish it with your top-notch weapons, right? So, does Nioh 3 have a New Game Plus mode? Does it?
Does Nioh 3 Have a New Game Plus Mode?

Yes, Nioh 3 does, in fact, have a New Game Plus mode, and you can access it after the final story mission. When starting a new playthrough on New Game Plus, you can also choose to start right from the beginning or skip the prologue and get right to the action. There are no traditional difficulty options to choose from at the start of Nioh 3, so the challenge level is dictated entirely by you; hopefully, you have a good build for your ninja.
Will Nioh 3 Be Getting More New Game Plus Mode Options?

The previous entries received additional content updates, and the same will happen for Nioh 3. This update will add Shogen’s Difficulty, Divine Rarity for rare gear, new buffs, and Grace effects. How do we know this? Well, there is a Season Pass available that bundles the two DLCs: Hell Rising and Bloody Insurrection. The second DLC is slated for February 2027. So, there you go. Don’t put your sword down just yet.
How Do I Access Nioh 3’s DLC?

To access this additional content, you must ensure it is installed on your console’s Manage Game Content menu. Then, once installed, you can access new areas on the world map after you’ve completed the game’s final mission, “Queen’s Eyes.” After you’ve done those steps, you will be able to access the in-game bonus items by visiting the Shrines, as well as whatever the DLC throws at us once it launches at the scheduled date.
And there you have it. Nioh 3 is very punishing, so hopefully you’ll have an easier time on your second or third playthrough. For all the best guides and such, keep it locked here on PS5Home. Thanks for reading.
